After living on the Central Coast for over 30 years, Cheryl and her husband felt it was time for a change. The area had become much busier than it used to be, and they were looking for a quieter lifestyle that was still convenient for her husband’s work. Their search led them to Huntlee, where they found the perfect block of land to build their dream home with Hunter Homes.

A Spacious Block to Suit Their Love of Gardening

With a 1,235m² block, Cheryl and her husband had the space they needed to create a home that embraced their love of nature. Her husband, a keen bonsai enthusiast, wanted a garden where he could continue his passion, while Cheryl wanted a home that made the most of their surroundings.

“We were looking online and kept coming back to Hunter Homes. We both just loved their designs,” Cheryl says.

Initially, they had their eye on the Mooring design but decided to make a few changes to better suit their long block. They moved the main bedroom, living, and dining areas to the back of the home to capture the garden views. The alfresco area was also extended, replacing a small sliding door and window with a large opening that seamlessly connects the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Personalising Their Home

Cheryl and her husband wanted a home that felt uniquely theirs, so they made several customisations:

• Extended the front porch for a welcoming entry

• Customised the pantry layout to enhance their kitchen’s functionality

• Chose a striking black-and-white colour scheme throughout

• Installed timber-look tiles for a warm and stylish finish

“These timber tiles were one of our favourite choices—they look fantastic and really suit the home.”

A Smooth and Efficient Build

Having built before, Cheryl knew what to expect, but she was particularly impressed by how easy the process was with Hunter Homes.

“We had no worries about building at all. The process was straightforward, and we were in by December after starting in July.”

Now, with only landscaping left to complete, Cheryl is excited to see her vision come together. The finishing touches, including a retaining wall, will enhance the outdoor space and complete their peaceful retreat.
